BASF Indonesia Appoints Daniel Loh as New President Director

Daniel Loh has been appointed the President Director of BASF Indonesia, effective April 27, 2017, succeeding CP Chan who retired at the end of February 2017.

Daniel started his career with BASF in 2004. He has held key management positions with the company since then, with his most recent position as Managing Director of BASF Malaysia and Head of the Malaysia-Singapore Business Area. Prior to Malaysia, Daniel has held operational and business management positions in Singapore and Thailand.

Daniel holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Oklahoma City University, USA and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the National University of Singapore.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the team in Indonesia to further explore how BASF can leverage on our innovation to help our customers to capture the opportunities and potential in Southeast Asia’s largest economy. BASF has been present in Indonesia for more than 40 years and it is an important market for us in the region,” Mr. Loh said.

Having been present in Indonesia since 1976, BASF products and solutions today range from petrochemicals, monomers, intermediates, dispersions and resins, care chemicals, nutrition and health, performance chemicals, catalysts, construction chemicals, coatings and performance materials to crop protection.

The head office for BASF Indonesia is located in Jakarta, and BASF operates four production sites, in Cengkareng, Cimanggis, Cikarang and Merak. In 2016, BASF posted sales of approximately 470 million euros to customers in Indonesia and employed 662 employees as of end of the year.
