Deutsche Schule Jakarta celebrates 60th Anniversary

Deutsche Schule Jakarta, a school registered as a Joint Education Unit (SPK) with a German and Indonesian curriculum located in Bumi Serpong Damai, South Tangerang, celebrated its 60th anniversary on March 20, 2017.

The event was attended by the Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang, Drs. H. Benyamin Davnie, and a representative from the South Tangerang Basic and Secondary Education Agency, Haryono, as well as a number of representatives from the South Tangerang Education Agency.

Mr. Davnie remarked said that education was the most important thing a parent could give to their children and he commended the school for providing the best education it could give to its students. “As parents, we of course want our children to have a better a future than ours,” he added.

Also invited to the event were officials from relevant government offices at the central, as well as the regional level, the representatives of Embassies from West and East European countries, Asia and America, the leaders of various German institutions and companies in Indonesia, the German Alumni Association, and representatives of Indonesian schools in the BSD area that are associated under ”Schools: Partners for the Future” (PASCH) – an educational programme supported by the German Federal Government for schools in Indonesia.
