Mercedez-Benz Indonesia has entered a new phase in the company's activities with the launch of GL-Class, the first to be assembled in Indonesia.

This premium SUV is for sale at all authorized Mercedez-Benz dealerships in Indonesia. India and Indonesia are two countries in which the GL-Class is assembled in addition to the Mercedez-Benz SUV in Tuscaloosa, United States.

"This year, Mercedez-Benz Indonesia began assembling the GL-Class in Indonesia. It is part of the company's response toward the strong economic growth and to meet increasing demand for premium SUV's in Indonesia," Dr. Clauss Weidner, President and CEO Mercedez-Benz Indonesia said.

Since 1981, Mercedez-Benz Indonesia has run successful assembly plants for its high quality vehicles, beginning with the C-Class, E-Class, S-Class and M-Class until the first assembly for the GL-Class this year at its plant located in Wanaherang, Bogor, West Java.

Stephan Moebius, Sales and Marketing Director of Passenger Cars Mercedes-Benz Indonesia said that "GL 350 CDI is a breakthrough in the premium SUV division, thanks toits state-of-the-art diesel engine technology which has shown high levels of performance, efficiency, and durability."

Mercedes-Benz engines are known for lower emissions, better fuel efficiency, greater torque and hassle-free maintenance. This benefits owners in that they get greater economic value, while the environment also benefits. "At 7.91/100km the GL 350 CDI uses less fuel and it also has a low emission rate at 209g CO2/km," he added.

Equipped with a 3.0 cyllinder turbo diesel engine able to produce 258 hp and 620Nm of torque, the GL CDI generates top performance for city and highway driving. In the urban environment, the GL 350 CDI offers excellent comfort, leg room, and fuel efficiency on congested roads. On the other hand, for long-distance also provides drivers and passengers with a driving experience that are the best in its class.
