Focus on supporting the digital transformation of the energy and manufacturing sectors in Indonesia

At the country’s largest energy event, the Electric, Power and Renewable Energy Indonesia Exhibition held in September 6-9, 2017 at the Jakarta International Expo in Kemayoran, Jakarta, Siemens showcased its solutions to support the digital transformation of the energy and manufacturing sectors in Indonesia.

Josef Winter, President Director and CEO of PT Siemens Indonesia, said Siemens' strategic goal is to help the energy and manufacturing sectors in Indonesia to overcome challenges and to excel by using products and solutions that increase efficiency and reduce costs. Digitalization is expected to drive the much-needed change towards widespread value-based output and reduced costs.

Mr. Winter led the presentation at the exhibition. He showcased among others Siemen’s new 44 MW high efficient aeroderivative gas turbine, the SGT-A45TR, which is used for mobile power generation. In the field of power generation services, he also demonstrated how MyAdvisor could help optimize rotating equipments such as turbines and compressors.

Also available at the exhibition was the staffers of the Siemens Cilegon Factory in the Banten province, West Java, who presented the factory’s portfolio in manufacturing heavy condensers, key components for steam and gas power plants and the complete small steam turbines. For almost 30 years, the factory has been providing value added to Indonesia and exporting its product to many countries in the world.

A reliable power supply is a key factor in a country’s economic stability. Siemens adds to this stability with intelligent and cost-efficient solutions, among which are the Digital Grid Field Devices showcased at the exhibition. The system is used to protect, monitor, and control of the power system networks. In addition, Siemens also showcased the Process Bus based on SIPROTEC for the digital substations technology. It also showcased Siemens Fusesaver – the world’s fastest Medium-voltage outdoor vacuum circuit breaker and the most cost effective solution for optimizing reliability, which can be monitored and controlled from SCADA system. From the Low-voltage products, Siemens showcased the 3VA molded case circuit breaker for systematic power distribution and the powerful 7KM PAC Measuring Devices, which consists of five measuring devices for all requirements – from simple energy consumption to system and network quality.

To help the manufacturing sectors in Indonesia increase their competitiveness by improving productivity, efficiency, flexibility, improve time to market and cyber security continuously – Siemens finally showcased its Industrial Communication (SCALANCE & RUGGEDCOM), Process Instrumentation (SITRANS), Automation Systems (TIA & PCS 7). With its unified data platform the integrated software solution COMOS provides plant design engineers, plant operating personnel, company management, with a continuous flow of data that meet their specific needs across all project phases to support the transformation towards factory digitalization.
