Industries:

Supplier and service providers along the entire value chain of hospital projects; starting from planning a new hospital to the equipment of health facilities with medical technology.

Background:

With a population of 255 million, Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world. Stable economic growth of 5 to 6 percent annually, a steadily growing middle class as well as rising life expectancy result in a strongly increasing demand for high quality health care services.

Additional demand is being generated by a general health insurance system which has been first introduced in 2014. With more than 150 million contributors to this public health insurance (status: August 2015) public health expenditure has risen significantly from USD 57.2 billion in 2015 to USD 80.6 billion in 2016. It is expected that the latest by 2020 the whole population will be covered by the new insurance system. The resulting surge in demand will further drive health care expenditures and the need for investment.

In the long term a large number of new hospitals is expected to emerge in order to close the existing development gaps. Business potential for small and medium sized German companies can be identified for the whole project cycle and in particular in the early planning phases of new hospitals as well as in equipping hospitals with reliable high quality and state of the art medical equipment.
