Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry

26 February - 02 March 2018

Jakarta, Surabaya, Batam

German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry & Commerce (EKONID)

Shipbuilding Industry, Maritime Industry

As a follow up to the business missions in 2015 and 2017 EKONID will host another business delegation of German shipbuilding suppliers in February 2018.  The Indonesian maritime industry offers various opportunities for cooperation between Indonesian and German companies. For instance all ships used by public authorities in Indonesia must be built locally, which requires government funding of USD 8-9 Billion between 2015 and 2019. The demand for components, 90% of which have to be imported, can be met by German manufacturers. Further opportunities for cooperation arise from planned investments of USD 18 billion in the expansion of 24 strategic Indonesian ports - 5 transshipping ports and 19 feeder ports. Another USD 15 billion shall be invested in the construction of smaller ports. Many international investors are ready to support these projects.

  • Conference with industry representatives
  • Individually organized meetings with potential business partners
