In order to maintain its position in the commercial vehicle segment, Mercedes-Benz Indonesia is consolidating its Daimler trucks and busses business line into PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI)

The consolidation also marks the beginning of the DCVI business strategy as the company greets 2018. The company will focus more on customer needs and to increase the value of a business that the company was once an envied leader.

Markus Vilinger, the newly appointed President Director and CEO of DCVI, said the consolidation would allow better focus on the local commercial vehicle business as the decision would help make decision-making processes faster and more flexible.

“This strategy is more proof of Mercedes-Benz’ committment since 1950, and it is an important step in showing our continuous dedication to our customers in Indonesia,” Mr. Villinger said.

DCVI had a positive year in 2017, with sales number going up. Another milestone is the opening of the Mercedes-Benz Vehicles factory in Wanaherang, Bogor, which also marks the launching of the locally assembled Axor trucks.

DCVI was also highly-regarded participant of the prestigious Indonesian Mining and Construction 2017 exhibition. The carmaker showcased its “flying doctors” service, which is aimed at anticipating complaints and at meeting the customer’s needs immediately. As for sales, Mr. Villinger said the company sold 500 units, each of which has 20-30% of local content.

“We’re not just selling. We want to build an ever-lasting relationship with our customers,” Villingers said. “We aim to sell 1,000 to 1,500 new Mercedes-Benz this year. This effort will be supporting by a strong customer service program with the aim to achieve complete customer satisfaction,” he added.
