On January 23, 2018, Rödl & Partner celebrated its 20th anniversary of operating in Indonesia at its new office in Green Office Park (GOP) 9, BSD City in Tangerang. The new office represents Rödl & Partner’s continued growth and committment to provide the best in legal services, tax advice and audits.

Having first expanded its operations into Indonesia in 1998, Rödl & Partner continues to be active at 108 locations in 50 countries.  Its presence in Asia-Pacific spans over 15 offices in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam, which further contribute to its strong worldwide network.

The new location in GOP offers Rödl a strategic location in servicing its clients. Furthermore, the open office concept and new interior is expected to foster greater communication across the firm and, “become a new place for new inspiration and new ideas,” said Prof. Dr. Christian Rödl, Managing Partner and Chairman of the Management Board at Rödl & Partner GmbH, who flew from Germany to attend the grand launching of the new office.

“I remember when we first opened our representative office in Indonesia in BSD City, 20 years ago, and we can’t imagine now, how in that time, this area has become so urbanized, how it has grown so much. It is only natural that we grow along with it... and we will take the approach of the new office to hit the ground running,” he said.

Mr. Rödl said that Indonesia is a key market for the law firm, adding that the law firm chose the country to be the location of its second representative in the Asia-Pacific region following the opening of its first Asia-Pacific representative office in Shanghai.

Tomy Harsono, the company’s partner and main representative in Indonesia, reaffirmed the law firm’s belief that the country is still very much the market to be.

Rödl & Partner’s continued committment towards its operation in Indonesia was also highly appreciated by EKONID, which considers the law firm a key partner in growing the country for German businesses. Ute Brockmann, Deputy Managing Director and Head of the Training and Education Department at EKONID, said the law firm’s expansion into eight countries in Southeast Asia also shows that Rödl & Partner was also a key partner in the region.

“With 20 years of membership and active participation in EKONID’s activities, we want to thank you for your partnership and thank you for your contribution to our network. Congratulation Rödl & Partner for its new office in BSD City,” said Mrs. Brockmann.
