Energy leaders and executives convene at inaugural forum co-hosted by Siemens

Energy Forum Indonesia 2017 is jointly organized by PT Siemens Indonesia and Listrik Indonesia, and officiated by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Industry and state power utility PLN. More than 300 experts attended from the power EPC, power generation and industrial companies, associations and media. The forum features the theme ‘Supporting Indonesia’s energy infrastructure through increased local content, national capacity building and digitalization.”

The first discussion forum featured keynote speaker from the Board Member of Indonesia’s National Energy Board – Dr. Tumiran. The discussion was moderated by Heru Dewanto, Secretary General of Indonesia Electrical Power Society (MKI) who focuses on the future of Power Sector in overcoming challenges in Emission, Capacity Development, Cost Effective, Reliability, Local Content, and Project Management. Speakers among the IPP and EPC are PLN, PT PP, Adaro Energy, Barata Indonesia, and Siemens Indonesia.

The Director General for Chemicals, Textile and Miscellaneous Industry, Indonesia Ministry of Industry – Achmad Sigit Dwiwahjono gave his keynote speech at the start of the second forum focusing on redefining the role of industrial sector to meet the changing needs in power and productivity. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Iwa Garniwa with industrial speakers from Plantation (HPI-Agro), Petrochemical (Pupuk Indonesia-Energi), IPP (Bekasi Power) and Siemens Indonesia.

In parallel, Siemens experts also presented at the technical classes featuring various technology topics for both the IPP & EPC and Industrial segment. During the second half of forum, Siemens introduces the role of Digitalization in the Energy Sector by Anand Menon, Chief Technology Officer, Siemens Energy Management, ASEAN. The forum was concluded with a keynote speech by the Director General of Electricity, Indonesia Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Andy N. Sommeng.

Approximately 150 forum participants also had the opportunity to visit the Siemens manufacturing and service facilities in Jakarta and Cilegon on May 4.
