Juli, in Brüssel, Belgien, kündigte die Präsidentin der Europäischen Kommission, Ursula von der Leyen, eine neue Visapolitik an, die es berechtigten indonesischen Staatsangehörigen ermöglichen wird, Schengen-Visa mit mehrfacher Einreise und längerer Gültigkeit zu erhalten. Dies stellt einen bedeutenden Schritt in den Beziehungen zwischen der EU und Indonesien dar und soll Geschäfts-, Tourismus- und akademische Reisen erleichtern.
