Water Treatment Technology Solutions
|Place||Jakarta and Surabaya|
|Partner||German Water Partnership e.V.|
|Background||Indonesia is facing various challenges within the water sector. Regarding the municipal sector, solutions for the treatment of wastewater are urgently needed. The existing sewage treatment plants are heavily overloaded and the majority of Indonesia’s wastewater is not being treated. In addition, large cities such as Jakarta and Semarang are sinking up to 25 cm annually, due to the uncontrolled extraction of groundwater. As a result of the poor water quality, the market for drinking water also represents a promising market. |
The Indonesian government estimates the investment needs for water supply and sanitation systems to be around USD 80 billion and is looking for companies in the private sector to partially fund and develop solutions. Not only the public but also the private sector offers potential business opportunities, since the lack of urban wastewater treatment plants legally requires large office buildings, shopping malls and industrial buildings to treat their own wastewater before it is discharged into public waters.
Supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), EKONID will be organizing a business forum in Jakarta and a technical seminar in Surabaya to discuss the current situation of the water sector in Indonesia and introduce technology solutions from Germany to address the prevailing challenges. During individual B2B meetings Indonesian companies will have the opportunity to discuss possible projects together with the German company representatives.
Registration will be made available soon. For further questions please contact Mr. Wuranto (firstname.lastname@example.org).
