In celebration of its 100th anniversary, the German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Indonesia / EKONID), together with its members and attending guests, made a collective donation of over IDR 180 million to the ISCO Foundation. The donation was presented during EKONID’s Centennial Gala at the Grand Ballroom of the Kempinski Hotel Jakarta.
The charity initiative—held under the patronage of German Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Ina Lepel—highlighted the shared commitment of EKONID and its business community to contribute meaningfully to Indonesian society. The funds were formally handed over to Fitri Fuchs, co-founder and representative of the ISCO Foundation, during a ceremonial moment at the Gala.
Ambassador Lepel, reflecting on her personal connection to ISCO, shared: "When Mr. Josef Fuchs showed me photos of the children, I was so impressed by how they were blossoming—active, eager to learn, and becoming engaged members of society. I felt this is something truly worthy of support.”
“This donation is truly life-changing,” said Mrs. Fuchs. “It directly supports the education and health of our children, giving them safe spaces to learn, proper nutrition, and access to medical care. But more than that, your generosity gives them hope—the tools to break the cycle of poverty and build a better future.”
Founded in 1999, ISCO—short for Indonesian Street Children Organization—works with vulnerable children across Indonesia to provide education, nutrition, healthcare, and protection. The foundation has helped thousands of children gain access to secondary education and basic medical services that would otherwise remain out of reach.
The charity initiative aligns with the Chamber’s longstanding commitment to social impact and community development. As EKONID looks to the future, its celebration became not only a reflection of 100 years of economic partnership—but also a reminder of the value of giving back.
