News EKONID Participates in Spielwarenmesse Asia Representatives Meeting 2026 in Tokyo, Japan

From 12–15 May 2026, AHK Indonesia EKONID, as the official representative of Spielwarenmesse eG in Indonesia, participated in the Asia International Representative Meeting held in Tokyo, Japan.

Spielwarenmesse is one of the world’s leading toy fairs with more than 75 years of history, that continues to connect and support the global toy industry, including the growing Asian market. The regional meeting brought together representatives from across Asia to discuss strategic developments for Spielwarenmesse, exchange market insights, and strengthen regional collaboration within the global toy and games industry.

The programme highlighted emerging industry trends such as toys and games for the kidults (kid-adults) audience, the potential on senior consumer market, as well as developments in the Sports, Leisure, and Outdoor product groups through interactive discussions and workshops.

These trends are also increasingly relevant in Indonesia, where the toy industry continues to show positive growth. Supported by a young demographic profile — with around 60% of the population under the age of 40 — consumer interest in toys and games continues to expand, further accelerated by the growth of e-commerce, social media, and pop culture influence. This development also aligns with Indonesia’s 5.61% economic growth in the first quarter of 2026, driven by strong domestic economic activity and rising household spending. Against this backdrop, the relevance of Spielwarenmesse within the Indonesian market remains highly significant.

In addition to the formal sessions, the regional meeting also provides valuable opportunities for networking and cultural activities, allowing representatives to be connected and experience Tokyo’s historical landmarks and engage with the local community.

EKONID sincerely appreciates the long-standing collaboration with Spielwarenmesse eG to represent the fair for the Indonesian market and further support the development and cooperation of the toy industry between Germany and Indonesia.

Looking ahead, Spielwarenmesse will once again take place in Nuremberg, Germany, from 2–6 February 2027. More information regarding the exhibition and participation opportunities can be found on https://www.spielwarenmesse.de/en/ or contact our team, Ms. Margareth Salindeho via email: margareth.salindeho@ekonid.id
