On July 9, 2025, the second batch of students from the Bayer-EKONID Vocational Mechatronics Training Program officially graduated. Of the 16 total participants, eight have been recruited by Bayer Indonesia.
The vocational training program is part of the German Dual Vocational Education and Training (GDVET) initiative and is conducted in cooperation with SMK Negeri 56 Jakarta Utara. This marks the completion of the second batch, which began in 2022. The first batch ran from 2019 to 2022 with 14 students, several of whom continue to work at Bayer, while others have pursued further education or found employment elsewhere.
Following their graduation, the first batch was assigned to a special task force for a Bayer project, providing hands-on industry experience. The second batch has shown similarly promising outcomes—not only through the recruitment of eight graduates by Bayer, but also through the success of other graduates in securing positions elsewhere or continuing their studies.
Ms. Priscilla Silvan Prarizta, Head of Product Supply Consumer Health at Bayer Indonesia, emphasized the program’s alignment with evolving industry needs: “Mechatronics will remain relevant with the rise of Industry 4.0 and future technologies. It will continue to be a key skillset, even as new programs emerge alongside it.”
Mrs. Prazizta added that Bayer was committed to moving forward with Batch 3, this time by involving additional schools located in West Java.
From EKONID’s side, Mr. Maulandiki Dani, Senior Executive of the Training and Education Department, underscored the organization’s commitment to growing the program: “EKONID continues to work to identify and partner with schools that are ready to support initiatives like this.”
EKONID extends its warmest congratulations to all graduating students for their dedication and achievement throughout the program. Their success reflects the growing impact of structured vocational training in preparing young talents for the demands of modern industry.
EKONID also extends its sincere appreciation to Bayer Indonesia, SMK Negeri 56 Jakarta Utara, and all those involved in the success of this vocational training partnership. The results from both batches reflect not only the value of dual vocational training, but also the potential for public-private cooperation in strengthening Indonesia’s skilled workforce.
