News Export Financing Seminar 2025

On June 25, 2025, approximately 150 attendees gathered at the Ayana Midplaza Jakarta for a high-level Export Financing Seminar, co-hosted by the German-Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (EKONID) alongside official Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) from Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

This marked the second time EKONID has co-hosted the seminar, which was organized in collaboration with Exportkreditgarantien der Bundesrepublik Deutschland (Hermes Cover), Atradius Dutch State Business, and SERV (Swiss Export Risk Insurance). The event aimed to enhance trade flows and foster deeper business engagement between Indonesia and the three European nations.

The seminar provided a platform for highlighting how Indonesian companies can benefit from sourcing and collaborating with suppliers from Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Key presentations by representatives from the participating ECAs outlined the financial instruments and support mechanisms available to facilitate such partnerships.

Speakers included Alexandra Lutz of AHK Southeast Asia and Bangladesh, Mackenzie Masaki and Stephan Naber from Atradius Dutch State Business, and Klaus Schmidberger from SERV. Their presentations offered practical insights into the role of ECAs in supporting international trade and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Diplomatic perspectives were shared by Marc Gerritsen, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Indonesia; Thomas Graf, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy; and Roger Zbinden, Trade Counsellor of the Swiss Embassy, who underscored the importance of public-private collaboration in unlocking investment and trade opportunities.

Two panel discussions featured a strong lineup of speakers, including Dani P. Suparmo, Mochamad Amin, Adelina Papenburg, Stefan Kilp, and J. Panggabean. These sessions explored practical pathways for partnerships between European exporters and Indonesian businesses, spotlighting sector-specific opportunities and financing solutions.

The seminar also facilitated direct engagement between Indonesian stakeholders and experts in finance, export credit, and industry. The networking segments were instrumental in bridging ideas with bankable projects, aiming to convert dialogue into actionable cooperation.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Stefan Schmidt, who emphasized the continuing need for cross-border collaboration and the vital role ECAs play in supporting sustainable development and economic growth in Southeast Asia.

EKONID expressed its appreciation to all contributors, speakers, and participants for their valuable input and support in making the seminar a success. The Chamber looks forward to building on this momentum and strengthening future cooperation through innovation and strategic partnership.
