EKONID Participates in Delegation Visit to Intersolar Europe

  • News

From 22–26 June 2026, EKONID participated in the Intersolar Europe exhibition series at Messe München in Munich, Germany, and joined site visits to two agrivoltaic photovoltaic (Agri-PV) projects in Bavaria as part of the Indonesian delegation facilitated by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, PLN, the Ministry of Finance, the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), the Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI), and other key stakeholders. The programme provided opportunities to engage with German companies and institutions, explore the latest renewable energy technologies, and promote Indonesia's investment potential.

News EKONID Participates in Delegation Visit to Intersolar Europe

Indonesia aims to increase the share of renewable energy in its national energy mix to 23% while advancing its commitments under the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP). Achieving these goals will require substantial private sector investment, particularly in solar photovoltaics (PV), energy storage, and grid integration. With decades of experience in renewable energy deployment, a strong ecosystem of independent power producers (IPPs), and well-established financing models, Germany is a natural partner in supporting Indonesia's energy transition.

Against this backdrop, The smarter E Europe / Intersolar Europe 2026 provided an ideal platform to showcase Indonesia's renewable energy potential. As Europe's largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry, The smarter E Europe brings together four leading trade fairs: Intersolar Europe (solar energy), ees Europe (energy storage), Power2Drive Europe (e-mobility), and EM-Power Europe (energy management). The event attracts thousands of technology providers, project developers, investors, policymakers, and industry leaders from around the world each year.

Throughout the exhibition, EKONID participated in conferences, meetings with the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and discussions with German companies and industry associations to exchange insights on the latest developments in solar energy and identify opportunities for future collaboration. Members of the Indonesian delegation also joined the Women Energize Women networking event organised by WISE – Women in Solar Energy, connecting with women leaders and industry experts committed to advancing diversity and inclusion across the renewable energy sector.

Beyond the exhibition, the delegation visited two Agri-PV installations in Bavaria. Agrivoltaic systems combine solar power generation with agricultural activities by integrating solar panels into farmland, allowing both food production and clean electricity generation on the same land. The visits offered practical insights into how this dual-use approach can improve land efficiency while supporting renewable energy expansion.

The mission also enabled direct engagement with German solar technology providers, engineering firms, and renewable energy experts. These exchanges are expected to open new opportunities for research partnerships, technology transfer, investment, and future renewable energy projects in Indonesia.

By strengthening connections between Indonesian and German stakeholders, the visit reinforced the growing partnership between the two countries in advancing the energy transition. The knowledge gained and relationships established through Intersolar Europe 2026 will contribute to Indonesia's efforts to accelerate renewable energy deployment and attract international investment in support of its long-term sustainability goals.
