The Indonesian government's vision for development in Nusantara is to create a modern capital that aims to balance emissions reduction, green economic growth, climate justice, climate resilience, and social inclusion. The concept of Nusantara as a 'forest city' is reflected in the region's land use plans, with almost 200,000 hectares of the area reserved for natural forests and marine protected areas. The remaining 56,000 hectares will be developed as urban areas with green spaces. The installation of renewable energy aims to meet 100% of Nusantara's energy needs by 2045.
